Montecito Medical Acquires Medical Office Property in Macon, GA

Montecito Medical has completed the acquisition of a medical office and surgery center property in Macon, Georgia.

The 12,443-square-foot building, which opened in 2015, is 100% occupied by AXIS Spine & Pain.

“We are pleased to acquire this asset and to enter into a long-term relationship with a leading specialty provider,” said Bryan Brown, Senior Vice President of Acquisitions at Montecito Medical.

AXIS Spine and Pain is the dominant practice in its specialty in the Macon and Warner Robins markets. The physician group delivers care from three locations in the area. The Spine & Pain Center in Macon is the group’s practice hub location. Physicians at the property perform a variety of procedures, including general procedures for the spine, back and knee pain-related symptoms, spinal injections, epidural injections, steroid injections and others.

The property is situated just off Interstate 75, approximately 8 miles northwest of downtown Macon, amid a neighborhood comprised mostly of retail and medical office properties.

Macon anchors the state’s fourth-largest metro area, which consists of five counties at the geographic center of Georgia. The MSA has a population of more than 230,000.

The Macon acquisition continues the expansion of Montecito’s footprint in Georgia. Earlier in 2022, the company acquired a three-building portfolio in the South Metro area of Atlanta, building on an existing portfolio of several medical properties acquired over the past two years.

“We continue to see excellent opportunity in tertiary markets like Macon and in the counties around Atlanta,” said Chip Conk, CEO of Montecito Medical. “We are gratified that so many physicians in Georgia have looked to Montecito to help them make the most of their medical real estate.”
